Dr. Daniel A. Frantz is a therapeutically licensed Optometrist and low vision physician specializing in the utilization of magnification and ergonomic aides to enhance vision.

 

Dr. Frantz graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2007 with a Bachelor's in Vision Science and a Doctorate of Optometry. Leading up to graduation, he spent three years studying didactically and clinically the anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, optics of the eye and vision, and how they interconnect with the rest of the body.  He also completed over a year of externships with various doctors at the Feinbloom Low Vision Center in Philadelphia, the Veteran's Outpatient Clinic in Allentown, and Broward Eye Care in Fort Lauderdale, specializing in contact lens fitting, disease, pediatrics, and low vision.

 

Before optometry school Dr. Frantz was a Muhlenberg College graduate in 2002, majoring in biology with concentrations in both pre-med and music.  At Muhlenberg he independently studied and/or authored research papers on geometric optics, stereopsis (depth perception), and the ocular dominance patterns of robins versus humans.

 

Dr. Frantz was born and raised in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, but has been part of the Selinsgrove community since 2007.  Dr. Frantz is an active church member.  He also sponsors and coaches/volunteers in the Selinsgrove Area Little League girls softball.  An Eagle Scout, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shannon, the Hybrid Learning Coordinator at Selinsgrove Area High School and former English teacher.  They are the proud parents of their ten year old daughter, Alexandria.

 

Dr. Frantz has the most up-to-date training possible for the diagnosis and treatment of various ocular disorders from blurry vision, dry eye and eye fatigue to macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic complications.

 

Dr. Frantz is available by appointment to perform complete visual and medical examinations, contact lens fits, and low vision evaluations for children, youth, and adults.
